Answer to your Health Question

Question: I had my tubes tied on the 31st of August 06 and I still haven't had a period. Is this normal? Angela

Answer: Dear Angela,

Even after a tubal ligation, pregnancy can be possible, specially an ectopic pregnancy, so check with your doctor or take a home pregnancy test. Although tubal ligation failure is not common, the tubes can grow back together or sometimes they are not cut off completely.

A missing period is not a common side effect. These usually include fatigue, abdominal pain, dizziness, nausea and shoulder pain.
