Answer to your Health Question

Question: I have non identical twins and would love another baby. How can I try and ensure it will not be another set of twins? Niccola

Answer: Dear Niccola,

When getting pregnant, there is no assurance of having twins again or not, just as it is not possible to get assurance of having a boy or a girl. Fraternal twins result when two or more eggs are fertilized. This happens when multiples eggs are released or there is more than one ovulation.

Once a woman has conceived twins, there is a 5% probability of having twins again.
