I have just found out that I am pregnant although only 6 weeks. I already have 1 girl the oldest followed by 4 sons. I would love it to be a little girl but what is the probability of that happening after 4 sons? Louisa

of the preceding siblings. There is no evidence of variation with maternal age . There is no evidence that mothers with sons are more likely to continue than those with daughters. There is no evidence to suggest that gender determination is anything other than a chance process. Your probability of having a girl is 48.6%.
