Answer to your Health Question

Question: My mother was diagnosed four months ago with colon cancer and now metastatic liver cancer. She has undergone a colon resection and is now waiting on the liver surgery. She has been experiencing constant pain in her upper right side of her abdomen. Is there any medicinal or alternative ways of treating the pain? Thanks. Tracy

Answer: Dear Tracy,

Abdominal pain is a very common symptom of liver cancer. The following herbal extracts have properties that offer relief against pain but have not been studied in correlation with liver cancer. Before taking any alternative medicines consult with the doctor, to make sure that these will interact ok with current medications.

- Devil's Claw
- Willow Bark
