Answer to your Health Question

Question: Got a round red dry circle on my breast. It only started as a small red dot but now is about the size of a quarter. Can you tell me what it could be? Could it be cancer? Jeannine

Answer: Dear Jeannine,

The skin on the breast is just like the skin everywhere else, so it can develop dryness, pimples, rashes and other skin abnormalities.

In order to get a diagnosis it is necessary for a doctor to examine and evaluate the area of concern.

Common causes for dry, red spots on the skin include:

- Eczema
- Rash
- Insect bite
- Psoriasis
