Title:
My periods are quite irregular since last year.
Sir,
I am 20 year old, my periods are quite irregular since last year.
Earlier
I had normal flows but since many months neither the periods nor the
flow are on specified date
I.e.
the flow is less and goes on to 6-8 days which earlier would last
up to 7 days.
Sir,
please help me.
Other
days I have certain white discharge and I feel mild back pain.
Answer:
The most
common causes of irregular periods include:
- Eating
disorders like anorexia and bulimia.
- Increased
or excessive weight loss.
- Stress
or emotional problems.
- Hormonal
problems (such as thyroid malfunctions, for example).
- Travel.
- Doing
too much exercise: if you're an athlete and train very hard, you will
stop menstruating because the body wants to survive and save energy.
Menstruation takes energy.
- Problems
in the organs in the pelvis (such as polycystic ovaries, for example)
- Medications
such and birth-control pills can affect the frequency and / or intensity
of menstruation.
- Breastfeeding.
Usually
the cause is hormonal and often facilitated by the presence of polycystic
ovaries.
Polycystic
ovary syndrome (PCOS) is the most common hormonal disorder among women
of reproductive age.
It requires
a pelvic ultrasound and a blood test for diagnosis.

blood pressure, heart disease and stroke.
Talk
with your doctor if you have menstrual irregularities - such as infrequent
