I have Sacroiliitis, Fibromyalgia, Myopia, Amblyopia, Astigmatism, Keratoconus and Rheumatoid arthritis.

I would like to get pregnant

Is there any risk for my health and for my baby?

Alexandra

Answer:

Dear Alexandra,

Yes, it is.

One of the Conditions that can predispose patients to sacroiliitis is pregnancy

Bilateral pyogenic sacroiliitis can follow uncomplicated pregnancy and labor.

Sacroiliitis may produce severe pain during delivery and fused.

In some cases, the symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis are relieved during pregnancy.

Rheumatoid arthritis therapy during pregnancy is complicated by the fact that none of the drugs have been shown to be safe in pregnant women.

Hereditary factors exist in rheumatoid arthritis

Keratoconus is a degenerative non-inflammatory disorder of the eye in which structural changes within the cornea cause it to thin and change to a more conical shape than its normal gradual curve.

Keratoconus is a little-understood disease with an uncertain cause, and its progression following diagnosis is unpredictable.

Keratoconus also occasionally develops during pregnancy or advances during pregnancy

While no single gene has been found to be the cause of keratoconus, there is certainly a link between keratoconus and hereditary

Amblyopia, or lazy eye, is a disorder of the visual system that is characterized by poor or indistinct vision in an eye that is otherwise physically normal, or out of proportion to associated structural abnormalities. It has been estimated to affect 1–5% of the population

As a result of of albuminuric retinitis Amblyopia during pregnancy is possible.

Vision changes during pregnancy

Amblyopia is sometimes hereditary:.

Fibromyalgia (FM) is a disorder classified by the presence of chronic widespread pain and tactile allodynia. An example of tactile allodynia is when a person perceives light pressure or the movement of clothes over the skin as painful, whereas a healthy individual will not feel pain.

Fibromyalgia patients are often affected by a number of symptoms other than pain, including debilitating fatigue, abnormal sleep architecture , functional bowel disturbance and a variety of neuropsychiatric problems.

Not very much is known about the course of fibromyalgia during pregnancy

There is no well-accepted effect of pregnancy on fibromyalgia. That is, there is no reliable improvement or worsening of pain when a woman with fibromyalgia becomes pregnant.

However there is some indication that fibromyalgia can be hereditary, as it tends to run in families.

Those with myopia see nearby objects clearly but distant objects appear blurred.

There are reports that link worsening of myopia to pregnancy.

Higher levels of myopia, tend to be hereditary.

Astigmatism is an optical defect, whereby vision is blurred due to irregular curvature of the cornea or lens.

You may become more nearsighted or develop some astigmatism during pregnancy.

Usually astigmatism is hereditary
