Answer:
Dear
Stacey,
Take
Bencoprim with a full glass of water.
Bencoprim
is taken in 5 or 10 mg tablets three times a day.
You should
start with no more than a 5 mg dosage.
This
medication is not recommended to be taken for more than two to three
weeks.
If you
miss a dose, take it when you remember. Or if you are near the time
for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double a dose to
make up for a forgotten one.
Do not
take Bencoprimif you have used an MAO inhibitor such as isocarboxazid
(Marplan), tranylcypromine (Parnate), phenelzine (Nardil), or selegiline
(Eldepryl, Emsam) within the past 14 days.
Serious,
life-threatening side effects can occur if you take Bencoprim before
the MAO inhibitor has cleared from your body.
Bencoprim
can cause side effects that may impair your thinking or reactions.
Be careful if you drive or do anything that requires you to be awake
and alert.
Avoid
drinking alcohol, which can increase some of the side effects of Bencoprim.
You
should not take Bencoprim if you have recently had a heart attack,
or if you have a heart rhythm disorder or congestive heart failure.
People
over 65 years of age should not take Bencoprim.
