Answer to your Health Question

Question (02/11/2011):

I take prevacid once a day, I am also supposed to take Metamucil once a day, I also take individual vitamins A, E, B, and D and two antioxidants; Pycnogenol and grape seed extract.

Should I take all these at once or is there a more optimal time to ingest each of these meds and supplements

Dear Joan,

It is best to take Prevacid 30 minutes before breakfast.

Any time of day is appropriate to take Metamucil.

Fat-soluble vitamins need fat in order to be absorbed, so they should always be taken with meals that contain fat.

Fat-soluble vitamins include vitamins A, vitamin D, vitamin E and vitamin K.

Pycnogenol is water-soluble; it is best taken in divided doses in the morning

Take your vitamin E at the same time as grapeseed extract.

The best time to take your antioxidant supplements is before, during or after your workouts.
