Answer to your Health Question

Question: I just started a cold (2 days) with the normal symptoms: sneezing, congestion, etc. My question: I feel feverish, hot and sweaty but I take my temp, I'm 97.1. What's up with that? Sharon

Answer: Dear Sharon,

Sneezing, nasal congestion and a runny nose are the most common symptoms of a cold, but many others can be present as well. The best treatment for the common cold includes:

- Taking over the counter cold remedies to relieve symptoms.
- Get plenty of rest
- Drink fluids

The lenght of the common cold is usually between 7 to 10 days.

If fever appears, it might be a symptom of the flu, which is sometimes also accompanied by sneezing and nasal congestion.
