Dear Ulrich,

All of the glucosamine forms are originated from shellfish and are extracted from shellfish.

Chrondroitin is derived from animal cartilage.

Glucosamine (C6H13NO5) is an amino sugar and a prominent precursor in the biochemical synthesis of glycosylated proteins and lipids

There is a patented process for generating glucosamine from plants wherein fresh plant materials, or re-hydrated dried plant materials or plant extracts, are heated at a temperature comprised between 70 and 110° C. for more than hours, characterized in that a fertilizer acting as glucosamine precursor is added during the cultivation of the plants, before the harvest.

Glucosamine Sulfate is an amino sugar derived from the chitin of shellfish.

Chitin is a polysaccharide composed of N-acetyl-D-glucosamine units.
