Answer to your Health Question

Question: My aunt was told that she had a cyst on her ovary that was 1.5 centimeters. I was wondering about how big that actually is for example. Angela

Answer: Dear Angela,

1.5 centimeters are 15 milimeters. A U.S. quarter (25 cents coin) is approximately 24.26 milimeters in diameter. A 1.5 cm ovarian cyst would be a little over half the size of a U.S. quarter.
