Question: I feel extremely fatigued. It's hard for me to just get out of bed everyday. I wake up and I can still go to sleep plus my body is achy all the time. I have no energy to do anything. Sometimes I get headaches too. What is wrong with me? do you have any ideas? Shawn

Answer: Dear Shawn,

The symptoms you mention could be related to chronic fatigue syndrome a condition of long term severe tiredness and fatigue that is not relieved by rest and sleep. Chronic fatigue syndrome is diagnosed when a person's abilites to perform daily activities are reduced by 50% due to the fatigue.

Symptoms of chronic fatigue syndrome include:

- Fatigue
- Headaches
- Muscle aches
- Sore throat
- Forgetfullness
- Joint pain

When suffering from this conditon, symptoms can last for 6 months or more. There is not treatment to cure CFS. Treatments available focus on providing relief against the symptoms such as medications.
