Answer to your Health Question

Question: If you have a disc in your back that is herniated, is inversion therapy ok? Also, I need to know if spine decompression is recommended or if they are the same. Theresa

Answer: Dear Theresa,

When suffering from a herniated disc it is ok to follow inversion therapy. It is recommended that this therapy is at first performed under the guidance of a licensed physical therapist so it is done properly.

Spinal decompression is a surgical procedure where a small portion of the disc material is removed to give the nerve root more space. This type of surgery is minimally invasive and has a faster healing time than other types of surgery.
