Answer to your Health Question

Question: My grandaughter started her first period in June of this year and has not had one again. I am worried about her. Is this normal? Margaret

Answer: Dear Margaret,

When girls first start their periods it is very normal for these to be irregular. It can take months and even a few years for the hormones that control menstruation to balance and have regular periods.
