Answer to your Health Question

Question: I just experienced the weirdest thing. I had the sensation like someone had scared me, heart raced, etc, then got very light headed and queazy feeling in stomach, then goose bumps. All of a sudden feel very tired. Could this be a mini stroke? I am 50 yrs old, normal blood pressure, do not smoke. Vicki

Answer: Dear Vicki,

The signs of a stroke are usually a sudden display of the following:

- Numbness, weakness, or paralysis of the face, arm, or leg, typically on one side of the body.
- Vision problems in one or both eyes, such as dimness, blurring, double vision, or loss of vision.
- Confusion, trouble speaking or understanding.
- Trouble walking, dizziness, loss of balance or coordination.
- Severe headache.

The symptoms you mention could be due to a sudden drop in blood pressure.
