Answer to your Health Question

Question: How do you tell the difference if you pulled a muscle or have a hernia on your groin area? Ann

Answer: Dear Ann,

The symptoms of a inguinal hernia (a hernia in the groin) include:

- Groin pain that gets worse when bending or lifting
- Tender lump in the affected area

When a muscle is pulled pain is noticeable but lumps do not show.
