Answer to your Health Question

Question: Recently had two bladder tests to find out why I'm urinating so often and urgently. Before these tests for quite a while my toes began to feel numb. It is starting to move up my feet slowly. I have one more bladder test to go, where they put a camera into my bladder. Could the two be related? Sandra

Answer: Dear Sandra,

People that suffer from diabetes often have symptoms such as the ones you mention (frequent urination and numb feet).

Other causes for numb feet include:

- Nerve injury
- Lack of blood flow to affected area
- Multiple sclerosis
- Underactive thyroid gland
- Vitamin B-12 deficiency
- Abnormal levels of calcium, potassium or sodium
