Question: Why have most of
my stools been green lately? This has been going on for almost a week
now, with normal brown color a couple of times. I haven't been eating
anything other than the usual. Rex
Answer: Dear Rex,
Foods, vitamins, supplements and
medications can change the color of the stool, even when they are
not green in color themselves.
Stools are usually green at first
and then get their brown color as they travel down the colon. If they
travel down too fast, the may still look green when they are excreted.
If you are also experiencing diarrhea
or your stools do not go back to normal in a few weeks, you may want
to visit your doctor and have some tests done.
