Answer: Dear Sergio
Babies that are born prematurely
(before 37 weeks old) have a higher chance of suffering from underdeveloped
lungs since they did not have enough time to mature. Ouside problems
during the pregnancy, at moments when the bones and/or lungs where
developing in a fetus, can also cause problems.
During the third month of a pregnancy,
a baby's bones begin to harden. If the mother suffers any problems
during this time, the bones of the fetus may not develop fully.
Genetic problems can also be the
cause for underdeveloped bones and lungs in a newborn.
