had the monarc hammock surgery on March 9, 2011.
Is
it normal to feel the roughness of the mesh hammock with a digit?
And
how will this affect sexual intercourse?

Dear Joyce,
The Monarc
uses what is called a transobturator approach to place the supportive
mesh.
A 5-year
study of Roberto Angioli, Francesco Plotti, Ludovico Muzii, Roberto
Montera, Pierluigi Benedetti Panici and Marzio Angelo Zullo, study
published on europeanurology.com on 11 August 2010, about effectiveness
of tension-free vaginal tape (TVT) and transobturator suburethral
tape (TVT-O), indicated that the mean cause of dissatisfaction was
the development of sexual dysfunction resulting from dyspareunia
or incontinence during intercourse, which was found in 6 of 16 dissatisfied
patients (37.5%).
